It’s not easy to think about the holidays right now, but maybe that’s why I wanted to. A small break from everything else, a quiet table in the middle of the noise.
A few weeks ago, I took out my red clay and started to shape things — thinking about what I’d like to have on my festive table this year. I kept thinking about light. And, somehow, angels.
I know — I’m not really the kind of person who expects angels to show up (they’re probably busy). But I do believe in light. The kind that warms a room, or softens the edges of a long day. I want this end of the year to feel calm, surrounded by love.
Simple things. A nice dinner, a sweet bite, little chocolates that disappear before the candles melt. And while I was thinking about all that, these small clay figures started to appear — almost on their own.
So here they are: trees with faces, angels, lambs with stars on their heads.
If you’d like to bring one home, you can find them in my Bigcartel shop.
See you soon.
